About Co-Working at The Sewing Club
This is a trial of a frequently-requested offering: the ability to work independently in our sewing studio. Co-working times allow for use of our sewing machines, sergers, and various tools for ironing, marking, measuring, and more. They are designed as a cost-effective option for folks who are planning to work independently and do not need assistance from an instructor. We're happy to help out if you have a few quick questions or need a hand setting up our machines, but if you are hoping for more involved sewing support, please join our email list to be notified when semi-private lessons and workshops resume.

Our workshops are held in small groups and usually sell out far in advance. It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot on short notice. In order to ensure we can continue running a viable business, the following cancellation policy applies to all workshop purchases.
We understand people get sick, child care cancels, and other emergencies come up. We ask that you please read this policy before booking a workshop, and understand that we must adhere to it. Please be understanding of our limitations as a small, independently run business, and don't ask us to make an exception to our policy.
If you can provide over 72 hours notice:
For individual bookings, if you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 72 hours' notice, you will receive a digital store credit that can be used for a future workshop, to shop online, or to shop in person. Store credits never expire, and will be issued to the email used to book the workshop. See below for details on private group bookings.
To cancel, contact us.
If you cancel within 72 hours of the start time:
It is very difficult for us to fill workshop spots on short notice. If you cancel within 72 hours or do not show for the workshop, you are not eligible for a store credit, and you are not able to pick up workshop materials.
If you are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop, contact us and we can try to arrange that they take your place. This is not guaranteed, especially if they require any custom pattern adjustments.
To cancel, contact us.
Private Group Bookings
Private group bookings must be cancelled at least 7 days from the workshop start time. If cancelled with over 7 days' notice, a store credit will be issued. If cancelled within 7 days of the workshop start time, no credit will be issued.
Arriving Late
If you arrive one hour (60 minutes) or more after the scheduled workshop time, that will be considered a no-show, and you will not be able to join the workshop, receive a store credit, or a refund.
Multi-Day Workshops
Partial refunds are not available for missed sessions or if you can't finish your workshop. If you can't attend workshop dates, contact us and we can arrange for you to finish the project during a co-working session or take it home.
If you must schedule a follow-up session because you missed a class, there will be a charge for additional teaching hours. If you must return because you could not finish your project in the scheduled time and you attended all sessions, there is no charge for the additional teaching time.
Agreeing to this Policy
When you sign up for a workshop, there is a checkbox to acknowledge that you understand and agree to this policy that you are required to select in order to sign up for the workshop. By checking this box and signing up for the workshop, you are agreeing to this policy.
The Sewing Club is located at 1722 Lillian Road in Fairfield, Victoria, BC, Canada.
There is plenty of free, non-residential parking along Lillian Road, and bike racks on the corner of Lillian & Fairfield.

We have machines with hand controls (no pedal required). Please let us know in the checkout notes if you require this type of machine so we can ensure it's set up for you.
If there's anything else we can do to accommodate you, please let us know in the checkout notes or contact us before the workshop.
