Workshops
The workshop I want is sold out! How do I join the waitlist?
If the workshop you'd like to attend is sold out, please click the yellow "Notify me when available" button on the workshop to be notified if someone cancels their spot. Please do this for each workshop you'd like to be waitlisted for.
When will you add more workshops? How can I find out when they're live?
We add workshops approximately a month in advance. We recommend signing up for our email list HERE to be notified when new workshops open.
How do I cancel my spot in a workshop?
If you can no longer make the workshop you signed up for, please reach out using the contact form at the bottom of this page.
When you signed up for the workshop, you checked a mandatory box confirming you read, understand and agree to our cancellation policy. Our cancellation policy is posted on each workshop, on this page, and is emailed out a few days before the workshop starts. Being a small business, we adhere to it strictly. Thanks for understanding ❤️
The Sewing Club Workshop Cancellation Policy
This policy is effective for purchases made on or after April 8th, 2024.
Our workshops are held in small groups and usually sell out far in advance. It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot on short notice. In order to ensure we can continue offering small group sewing workshops, the following cancellation policy applies to all workshop purchases.
We understand people get sick, child care cancels, and other emergencies come up. We ask that you please read this policy before booking a workshop, and understand that we must adhere to it. Please be understanding of our limitations as a small, independently run business, and don't ask us to make an exception to our policy.
If you can provide over 48 hours notice:
If you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 48 hours' notice, you will receive a digital store credit that can be used for a future workshop, to shop online, or to shop in person. Store credits never expire, and will be issued to the email used to book the workshop.
To cancel, contact us.
If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time:
It is very difficult for us to fill workshop spots on short notice. If you cancel within 48 hours or do not show for the workshop, you are not eligible for a store credit, and you are not able to pick up workshop materials.
If you are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop, contact us and we can try to arrange that they take your place. This is not guaranteed, especially if they require any custom pattern adjustments.
To cancel, contact us.
Arriving Late
If you arrive one hour (60 minutes) or more after the scheduled workshop time, that will be considered a no-show, and you will not be able to join the workshop, receive a store credit, or a refund.
Multi-Day Workshops
Partial refunds are not available for missed sessions or if you can't finish your workshop. If you can't attend workshop dates, contact us and we can arrange for you to finish the project during a co-working session or take it home. If you must schedule a follow-up session because you missed a class, there will be a charge for additional teaching hours.
If you must return because you could not finish your project in the scheduled time and you attended all sessions, there is no charge for the additional teaching time.
Agreeing to this Policy
When you sign up for a workshop, there is a checkbox to acknowledge that you understand and agree to this policy that you are required to select in order to sign up for the workshop. By checking this box and signing up for the workshop, you are agreeing to this policy.
Are your workshops size inclusive?
Yes! We use designs from independent designers for our workshops, and one of the main criteria we look for is size-inclusive sizing.
In the event that your measurements fall above or below the size chart for the pattern, we will grade it to accommodate at no extra cost. We're also able to make adjustments to the pattern, for example wider straps to cover a bra, during the workshop.
If you have any questions about the pattern we're using, please reach out using the contact form at the bottom of this page.
What age groups are your classes?
All of our workshops are for adults 16+
Do you offer kids classes?
We do not offer kids classes at this time; all of our classes are designed for adults 16+.
Our friends at The Makehouse offer a variety of kids classes and camps, so we recommend checking them out!
