ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

In this two-day workshop, we're making The Hank Jacket, The Sewing Club's very own pattern. You'll learn from the designer of the pattern and owner of The Sewing Club, Erin. (Miri will also be working the shop this weekend, so the vibes will be high!)

The Hank is a unisex workwear-inspired jacket featuring design details that make it great for layering. It’s sure to become one of your daily wardrobe staples. Plus it’s named after The Sewing Club’s shop cat - Hank!

Fabrics photographed are the Indigo 12 oz denim and Blue Hickory Stripe 8oz denim.

The details:

  • Oversized fit & curved raglan sleeves for maximum mobility
  • Detroit cuffs for a vintage vibe
  • Mitred corners to reduce bulk at the hem
  • Large front and breast pockets for carrying essentials and trinkets

WHAT TO BRING/ WHAT'S INCLUDED

All fabric, supplies, and equipment are provided. Participants will have their own machine to use for the weekend, but can bring their own if they want to become more familiar with it.

Our workshops are held in small groups and usually sell out far in advance. It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot on short notice. In order to ensure we can continue running a viable business, the following cancellation policy applies to all workshop purchases.

We understand people get sick, child care cancels, and other emergencies come up. We ask that you please read this policy before booking a workshop, and understand that we must adhere to it. Please be understanding of our limitations as a small, independently run business, and don't ask us to make an exception to our policy.

If you can provide over 72 hours notice:

For individual bookings, if you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 72 hours' notice, you will receive a digital store credit that can be used for a future workshop, to shop online, or to shop in person. Store credits never expire, and will be issued to the email used to book the workshop. See below for details on private group bookings.

To cancel, contact us.

If you cancel within 72 hours of the start time:

It is very difficult for us to fill workshop spots on short notice. If you cancel within 72 hours or do not show for the workshop, you are not eligible for a store credit, and you are not able to pick up workshop materials.

If you are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop, contact us and we can try to arrange that they take your place. This is not guaranteed, especially if they require any custom pattern adjustments.

To cancel, contact us.

Private Group Bookings

Private group bookings must be cancelled at least 7 days from the workshop start time. If cancelled with over 7 days' notice, a store credit will be issued. If cancelled within 7 days of the workshop start time, no credit will be issued.

Arriving Late

If you arrive one hour (60 minutes) or more after the scheduled workshop time, that will be considered a no-show, and you will not be able to join the workshop, receive a store credit, or a refund.

Multi-Day Workshops

Partial refunds are not available for missed sessions or if you can't finish your workshop. If you can't attend workshop dates, contact us and we can arrange for you to finish the project during a co-working session or take it home.

If you must schedule a follow-up session because you missed a class, there will be a charge for additional teaching hours. If you must return because you could not finish your project in the scheduled time and you attended all sessions, there is no charge for the additional teaching time.

Agreeing to this Policy

When you sign up for a workshop, there is a checkbox to acknowledge that you understand and agree to this policy that you are required to select in order to sign up for the workshop. By checking this box and signing up for the workshop, you are agreeing to this policy.
