About this Pattern
The Elastic Waist Tapioca Trousers feature a high waist, front pleats, and hidden inseam pockets. They’re designed to be comfortable, easy going, and have generous ease throughout the hips and crotch. If you're unfamiliar with the term ease, you can think of it like the space between your body and the garment.
When designing these trousers, I wanted to create a quick and simple garment that makes a big impact in your closet. It’s a staple that’s easy to style and feels like secret pajamas - my favorite kind of pants!
This is a BEGINNER FRIENDLY PDF sewing pattern that is designed to help beginner sewists learn skills to become an intermediate sewist. You will learn how to sew an inseam pocket, how to sew a French seam, how to sew pleats, and how to sew an elastic waistband.

Suitable Fabrics:
The Elastic Waist Tapioca Trousers are intended to be made in a lightweight drapey fabric such as rayon, tencel, suiting, and more! My favorite pair is made out of an eco viscose from L’etoffe Fabrics. It’s very comfortable to wear, has a lovely drape, and was easy to sew with.
