About this Fabric

Sold per 1/2M - for a metre, choose quantity = 2.

Linen/Cotton Fabric:

  • 55% linen, 45% cotton
  • Width: 56" or 150cm
  • Medium weight with matte finish. Has some drape from the linen content but reduced wrinkles and added structure from the cotton make it a lovely choice for garment sewing (and wearing!)
  • Suitable for shirts, summer pants, or accessories.

About Artist Rio Kaneki

Rio is a Victoria, BC based graphic designer and block print maker who creates classic and bold artwork with a timeless aesthetic. Influenced by the analog processes, Rio hand carves Japanese block prints as a way of sharing his Japanese heritage with the world.

Born and raised in Japan, Rio started his creative career with screen printing in the early 2000’s in Tokyo. Upon arriving in Canada, he threw himself into screen printing and clothing design, that led it’s way to a clothing brand and numerous collaborations with local skateboard companies. His focus was to create functional, wearable products.

Rio now offers full branding, logo design, merchandising, custom designs and prints with the motto “My books are always open”. He helps bring the client's vision to light with his unique style. His inspiration comes from 1990’s skateboard graphics, antique signs, nostalgic labels, and anything with a timeless aesthetic. Rio strives to create with a fusion of his Japanese heritage and current Western culture producing work that is unique and distinctive. He believes logo design should be classic, clean, and unforgettable.

There's a good chance you've already seen Rio Kaneki's work from the newly-released Nike SB Tee to one of the many iconic skate tees and murals he's designed over the years. We're super excited to be Rio's first textiles project. Check out more of Rio's work here.
