Super Beginner - Sewing BINGO - Wednesday January 10th
Super Beginner - Sewing BINGO - Wednesday January 10th
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
What is sewing Bingo?! Well, we may not be at a Bingo hall, and you can't smoke indoors, but you will have a night of games and fun! Rather than offering a traditional classroom format, we've made it into a game: we'll call out beginner sewing skills, teach them to you, and then you get to stamp them on your very own Sewing Club Bingo card as a souvenir of all of the skills you learned. First one to make a line gets a prize!
This is our take on an "Introduction to Sewing for Beginners" type class, so it would be a great place to start if you've been feeling intimidated by our garment workshops.
All fabric, supplies, and equipment are provided. You may bring your own sewing machine if you'd like, but please make sure it's in working order before you arrive, and please bring your own bobbin and needles.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS WORKSHOP
- Adults (16+)
- Skill Level: Super Beginner. No sewing is experience necessary, and this would make a great first workshop to help you build confidence in your skills.
SKILLS YOU'LL LEARN
- How to thread a sewing machine
- Basic seams
- Advanced seams
- Foundational skills like sewing darts, bias binding
- Sewing button holes
- Hemming & repair techniques
- Troubleshooting tips
- And more!

Accessibility
While the building and workstations are wheelchair accessible, the washroom unfortunately is not. There is an accessible washroom in Hollywood park across the street.
We have machines with hand controls (no pedal required). Please let us know in the checkout notes if you require this type of machine so we can ensure it's set up for you.
If there's anything else we can do to accommodate you, please let us know in the checkout notes or contact us before the workshop.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
We do our best to be flexible and accommodating when your plans change, but as these are small group workshops that usually sell out far in advance, it can be difficult to fill a cancelled spot on short notice.
This policy is effective for purchases made on or after October 10, 2023.
Over one week from start time
If you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over one week's notice, you will receive a full refund or store credit towards a future class.
To cancel, contact us and let us know if you would like a refund or a store credit. Store credits never expire and can be used for anything online or in-store.
Between one week and 48 hours from start time
If you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 48 hours' notice, you will receive a store credit that can be used for a future workshop, to shop online, or in person. Store credits never expire.
To cancel, contact us.
Under 48 hours from start time
It is very difficult for us to fill workshop spots on short notice. If you cancel within 48 hours or do not show for the workshop, you are not eligible for a refund or credit, and you are not able to pick up workshop materials.
If you are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop, contact us and we can try to arrange that they take your place. This is not guaranteed, especially if they require any custom pattern adjustments.
Multi-Day Workshops
Partial refunds are not available if you can't finish your workshop. If you can't attend the remaining workshop dates, contact us and we can arrange for you to finish the project during a co-working session or take it home.
