Super Beginner Learn to Sew Series (Wednesdays in February)
Super Beginner Learn to Sew Series (Wednesdays in February)
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
In our Super-Beginner Learn To Sew Series, we will start from the very basics of garment sewing and work up to starting your very first project, with dedicated time to work on it during class. Held in groups of up to 4 students, you will have lots of opportunity to ask questions and get support from the instructor.
This class will move at a slower pace than our garment workshops. In the first two evenings, we'll cover general knowledge about taking measurements, adjusting patterns, interpreting pattern instructions and markings, and cutting and construction techniques. The second two evenings will allow for time to work on your chosen project with lots of support and encouragement from your instructor.
We will provide a few suggested projects to start with, but the choice is all yours which project you pick! Think along the lines of a pair of casual pants, a bag, a linen top, vest, or simple dress. We recommend a simple project like a tote bag if you'd like to work on it exclusively during class time, or you can choose something more advanced if you're happy to work on it at home with all of your newly-learned skills!
You will need to purchase the materials for your project separately, and you will receive 15% off any supplies required for your project if purchased from our shop.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
This policy is effective for purchases made on or after April 8th, 2024.
Our workshops are held in small groups and usually sell out far in advance. It can be very difficult to fill a cancelled spot on short notice. In order to ensure we can continue offering small group sewing workshops, the following cancellation policy applies to all workshop purchases.
We understand people get sick, child care cancels, and other emergencies come up. We ask that you please read this policy before booking a workshop, and understand that we must adhere to it. Please be understanding of our limitations as a small, independently run business, and don't ask us to make an exception to our policy.
If you can provide over 48 hours notice:
If you need to cancel your spot and are able to give over 48 hours' notice, you will receive a digital store credit that can be used for a future workshop, to shop online, or to shop in person. Store credits never expire, and must be issued to the email used to book the workshop.
To cancel, contact us.
If you cancel within 48 hours of the start time:
It is very difficult for us to fill workshop spots on short notice. If you cancel within 48 hours or do not show for the workshop, you are not eligible for a store credit, and you are not able to pick up workshop materials.
If you are able to find someone to take your place in the workshop, contact us and we can try to arrange that they take your place. This is not guaranteed, especially if they require any custom pattern adjustments.
To cancel, contact us.
Arriving Late
If you arrive one hour (60 minutes) or more after the scheduled workshop time, that will be considered a no-show, and you will not be able to join the workshop, receive a store credit, or a refund.
Multi-Day Workshops
Partial refunds are not available if you can't finish your workshop. If you can't attend the remaining workshop dates, contact us and we can arrange for you to finish the project during a co-working session or take it home.
